Terms of Trade

1. Agreement & Scope of Services

These Terms of Trade apply to all cabinetry installation, flatpack assembly, scribing, and joinery fitting services provided by Cabinet Warehouse Limited (trading as Installers) to homeowners, builders, and commercial clients across Greater Auckland.

By approving a formal quote, paying a material deposit, or instructing our team to begin installation work, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Trade.

2. Quotations & Fixed-Price Quotes

• Online Estimator: Figures generated by our website calculator are indicative baseline estimates based on user-entered carcass counts, assuming standard wall alignment and plumb floors.
• Formal Quotes: Written quotes issued after itemized parts inspection or site consultation are valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue.
• GST: All prices quoted for residential customers clearly state whether they are GST-inclusive or GST-exclusive, as governed by the New Zealand Fair Trading Act 1986.

3. Payment Terms & Deposit Policy

Final payment is due within 7 days of invoice date via direct credit or approved electronic payment.

4. Homeowner Site Readiness Checklist

To ensure a high-precision installation without delays or extra charges, the client is responsible for ensuring the worksite meets the following criteria prior to installer arrival:

• Clear Access & Parking: Unobstructed pathways from driveway/parking into the installation room.
• Clean Work Area: The room must be cleared of construction rubbish, old furniture, and tools.
• Services Disconnected: Existing plumbing, gas lines, and electrical connections must be safely disconnected and capped by certified tradespeople prior to cabinet assembly (unless booked with us as an add-on service).
• Utilities: Active 230V mains power and adequate indoor lighting must be available on site.
• Flatpack Delivery: All flatpack boxes, hardware cartons, and panels must be delivered on site and dry.

5. Variations & Hidden Structural Issues

Older Auckland homes frequently feature severe floor dips, bowed studs, or out-of-square walls. While minor shimming is included in standard fitting:

• If structural framing requires extensive rectification, additional timber noggings, or non-standard scribing exceeding the initial scope, our crew will notify you immediately.
• No variation work will proceed without your verbal or written approval of the agreed additional cost.

6. Workmanship Guarantee & Consumer Rights

We stand firmly behind our craft. All installations carried out by our team are protected by our Workmanship Guarantee against installation defects, door hinge sagging, or drawer runner misalignment resulting from fitting error.

Statutory Consumer Rights: Nothing in these Terms of Trade excludes, restricts, or modifies any condition, warranty, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) or the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA). If services are acquired for business purposes, the provisions of the CGA may be excluded to the extent permitted by law.

7. Dispute Resolution

We value long-term trade and homeowner relationships. If any question or dispute arises regarding the quality or completion of installation work, both parties agree to discuss the matter in good faith on site in Auckland within 5 business days of notification before initiating formal proceedings.
