Scribing Metod Cover Panels: Pro Tips for Auckland Kitchens

Scribing is a critical skill for cabinet installers. When fitting an IKEA Metod kitchen, cover panels are used to finish the ends of cabinet runs and mask the white carcass boxes. However, standard NZ walls are rarely perfectly plumb. To get a high-end finish, you must custom scribe each cover panel.

Scribing involves taping the panel in place, using a compass or block to trace the wall's contour onto the panel, and then cutting along the line with a jigsaw or track saw. Our qualified crew at Installers specializes in precision scribing to ensure your IKEA Metod kitchen fits flush against any wall profile.
