How to Anchor a Floating TV Cabinet Safely into NZ Stud Walls

Floating TV consoles create a sleek, modern aesthetic, but they apply significant leverage force to the wall. To anchor a floating cabinet safely in an NZ timber-framed home, you must secure the mounting brackets directly into the timber studs. Plasterboard alone cannot support the combined weight of the cabinet, television, and media devices.

We locate the timber studs, mark the heights using dual-axis lasers, and anchor the metal suspension rail using heavy-duty structural screws. If the studs do not align with the cabinet's pre-drilled holes, we install solid timber backing blocks behind the wall plasterboard.
