How to Secure Overhead Laundry Cabinets to NZ Plasterboard Walls

Overhead laundry units store heavy liquid bottles and detergents. Anchoring these cabinets directly to plasterboard is unsafe. During installation, our qualified carpentry team uses stud finders to secure the cabinet's top and bottom hanging rails to the vertical wall studs using high-torque wood screws.

If stud positions do not align with the cabinet edges, we secure a matching timber mounting batten onto the wall studs first, then mount the cabinet onto the batten. This distributes the weight safely and prevents structural deflection.
